Mohan Bhagwat RSS chief today arriving in Jammu

Amid allegations of Kashmir centric groups that the Sangh Parivar is setting its foot in the Valley, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), ideological fountain head of the Parivar, has first time chosen Jammu as venue for its annual national executive committee meeting.
Although the three-day high-profile meet is going to start from July 18, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is arriving in Jammu tomorrow morning to attend the core group meeting of the Sangh Parivar to finalise the agenda for “Prant Parcharak” meeting.
“The core group, comprising nearly 20 top leaders of the Sangh Parivar, including those deputed in the BJP and other organisations from the RSS, will sit together and finalise agenda for the big meeting,” a source said, adding that during his week-long stay at Jammu, Mohan Bhagwat would get detailed feedback on the functioning of the PDP-BJP government in J&K. The meeting is likely to assess the functioning of the government in J&K.
“Ram Madhav, who is the architect of the Agenda of Alliance of the PDP-BJP government in J&K, will remain in the meeting from July 18 to 20 to respond to the queries, likely to be raised by the participants in the meeting,” a source said, adding, “possibility of BJP national president Amit Shah attending the meeting looks bleak due to Presidential election”. Top leaders of the VHP and other off-shoots of the Sangh Parivar would also attend the three-day meeting.
Keeping in view the prevailing situation in the Valley, especially after the attack on the Amarnath yatra, the scheduled meeting attached more importance. Already VHP firebrand leader Parveen Togadia has demanded the dismissal of the Mehbooba Mufti government in which the BJP is an equal partner.
When contacted, Parshotam Dedechi, Prant Karawah (state general secretary) of the J&K RSS, said Mohan Bhagwat was reaching Jammuon Friday morning. He said the preparation meetings for the annual meeting would start from Friday morning as soon as the RSS chief reached Jammu.
“This is an annual routine review meeting of the Prant Parcharks to take stock of events and activities of the year gone by, and at the same time draft out a plan of action for the coming year,” Dedechi said, adding, “every state would present its report card in the meeting”.
Sources in the RSS said the place of meeting was decided as a calculated move of the Sangh Parivar to send out a clear message to separatists of the Kashmir valley that J&K was an integral part of India and the Sangh Parivar was committed to its unity.
Since its formation in 1925, the RSS is holding its annual meeting in J&K for the first time. And this decision of the Sangh Parivar is likely to evoke strong reaction from separatist groups of the Valley.
